چکیده

The purpose of the study was to examine prevalence Escherichia coli in shrimps and mussels, determine distribution β-lactam, aminoglycoside, quinolone, multi-drug resistance phenotypically genotypically E. isolates obtained from mussels Istanbul. Faecal samples were collected (n = 96) Marmara Sea coastline fish markets For detection antibiotic susceptibilities, seven groups used. β-lactamase, quinolone genes also determined. A total 34 (17.7%, 15 shrimps, 19 mussels) isolated, 17 (50%) found be resistant one or more antimicrobials. highest seen against aminoglycosides with 11 (32.35%), followed by quinolones 10 (29.41%) extended-spectrum β-lactamase (ESBL) 4 (11.76%). Multi-drug detected 5 (14.7%) 3 shrimp 2 mussel samples. ESBL demonstrated at 3.84% There no AmpC carbapenemase-producing genes. These harbored blaCTX-M-1 3) blaTEM 4). Ten genotypically. Resistance strB isolates, aadA 5, together 3, ANT('')-Ia, aphA1 aphA2 simultaneously 1, aac(3)-IIa 1 isolate. aac(6')-Ib-cr gene only quinolones.

Comparison of quinolone and beta-lactam resistance among Escherichia coli strains isolated from urinary tract infections.

The growing frequency of antibiotic resistances is now a universal problem. Increasing resistance to new generations of β-lactam and quinolone antibiotics in multidrug-resistant Enterobacteriaceae isolates is considered an emergency health issue worldwide. The aim of this study was to evaluate plasmid-mediated quinolone resistance genes in ESBL-producing Escherichia coli isolated from urinary t...

The Survey of Genes Encoding Beta-Lactamases, in Escherichia Coli Resistant to Beta-Lactam and Non-Beta-Lactam Antibiotics

Objective(s) Resistance to the new generation of cephalosporins which is mediated by Extended-Spectrum beta-lactamases (ESBLs) has been found among Escherichia coli isolates throughout the world. These resistance genes and their producers, the micro-organisms carrying beta-lactamases, are responsible for serious clinical and therapeutic problems among inpatients and it is necessary to pay more...

Genetic Investigation of Beta-Lactam Associated Antibiotic Resistance Among Escherichia Coli Strains Isolated from Water Sources

Background Antimicrobial resistance is an important factor threatening human health. It is widely accepted that antibiotic resistant bacteria such as Escherichia coli (E. coli) released from humans and animals into the water sources, can introduce their resistance genes into the natural bacterial community. Objective The aim of this study was to investigate the prevalence of blaTEM, blaCTX, b...

Resistance to Aminoglycoside Antibiotics in Escherichia coli Isolated from Urinary Tract Infection in Iran in 2000-2012: A Systematic Review

Background and Objectives: Resistance to aminoglycosides has become a major problem in the treatment of urinary tract infection due to the extensive use of this antibiotic group. Due to the increased resistance of Escherichia coli to aminoglycosides, this study systematically evaluated the resistance to aminoglycosides by Escherichia coli isolated from urinary tract infection (UTI) in Ira...

Molecular Epidemiology of ESBL Genes and Multi-Drug Resistance in Diarrheagenic Escherichia coli strains Isolated from Adults in Iran

Resistance to oxyimino cephalosporins antibiotics in Enterobacteriaceae is primarily done by the extended spectrum β-lactamases (ESBLs). Clear identification of risk factors for ESBL-producing infections is necessary. Therefore, efficient strategies can be developed to decrease outbreak of these infections. The aim of this study was to determine the antibacterial susceptibility and ESBLs patter...
